Awareness

Statistics say that 1 out of 3 women will go through emotional, physical or sexual abuse during their lifetime. This equates to about 1 billion women a year! It is important to educate ourselves about the impact and danger of domestic abuse. In some cases as we all know it is a matter of life or death and it is important to educate yourself on how you can help yourself, family member, or friend get out of a dangerous situation safely. If you are in need of help please use the links and information below to educate yourself on getting out SAFE!

Rickey and Dinas Story

Below are links to the stories of Rickey and Dina who were tragically killed by her boyfriend because of a domestic situation. She had been trying to leave the relationship at the time and Rickey who was a friend and Co-worker was trying to help her find a new apartment and get on her feet to start a new life with herself and her two children. It was said that the police had been called 4-5 times in the few months that the couple had been living together at their new residence. This blog is dedicated to the memory of Rickey and Dina and is also meant to secure some justice that they both so desperately deserve. My hope is that this blog can help educate people on how to get out of their situation safely as well as give vital information on what to do to help a loved one.
